Cool, shame about the name though. I was hoping for Dewalt/black'n'decker/bosch 91680somthing so it wouldnt stick out like a sore thumb on the invoice, we dont do much ultimate detailing at our place

I'm waiting for the UDM too....

....unfortunately I've just read that it's release date is now delayed until 2008. Something to do with Meguiars getting in on the act apparently.

Don't know how true this is though.

you'd get a rotary by well known power tool brands, ie maktika (sp), bosch etc. but then you need to be very careful you don't go through your paint. not easy to use.

How about a Festool rotex? Bit more grunt than a PC but safer than a rotary.

The alternative to the PC is the dewalt 443 Sander/Polisher. I've got one and I've been using it all day. Tough to type because of bone buzz

Here is a link - Dewalt

It's plenty powerful but today I found it quite noise and fairly heavy but then I have nothing to compare to. I just know that I'm totally shattered now. Car looks mint though

Aye, we were, and is is an excellent quality tool, but the price was going to be £250+, so not a viable option in light of the likely price of the UDM being £100. The UDM is still what we believe will be the best option... once it is finally released. Good things come to those that wait...
