What would be the best polish / wax for a blue sti?

 

Look in the car care section of this forum mate and speak to Polished Bliss, they will advise the best of the best for you

 

I have tried a few but I find Chemical guys wet mirror Finish makes mine look the dogs

hmm for blue, id say blackfire wet diamond or menzerna final finish, heard good reports on clearkote waxes

I used four star on the mica black and gave the exact results that i was after a nice deep wet looking shine

Swissol/Swissvax shield wax

 

on my black/blue mica i use Swissol Samauri. Would't use anything else now!

 

Wash - Any Metallic Restorer then AutoGlym Resin Wax - followed by AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection.

Takes about 4 hours but the result is the best a man can get ...........

IMO I do not give all the expensive 'of the moment' remedies brain space - they are for the gullible!!

 

Maguiars NXT spray followed by their carnuba wax is a good cheapie.

Swissol/vax Samurai is better though.

 

Have you tried Swissol Pete ?

What can you recommend, as a reasonable starter kit, bearing in mind I don't want to invest in a Chilian Bee Farm LOL

If there is any perceived difference then we are talking tiny, tiny, ting degrees .......... not worth spending big money on

 

I have the following already,

I have auto glym Bodywork shampoo, Super resin polish, extra gloss protection.

I also have Maguiar’s gold class shampoo & conditioner, step 2 deep crystal polish, step 3 deep crystal carnauba wax

What’s the verdict on these?

 

lol, this could go on for a while
it is good stuff i'll give it that, i used it myself for a few years and i'm sure you can source it for a fiver or something daft but the stuff i use now is only a few quid more but lasts for at least a couple of months longer.

now i know you love a bargain pete, give it a go. you won't be dissapointed, just think how wrong you were about the std. suabru backbox not being able to be improved on before you saw the light with the ninja

 

Bought some of that Turtle Ice stuff yesterday. Not sure what it will be like on paintwork (just done it with NXT), but is brilliant around the black edging, rubber and plastic trim. goes on with ease and jut rubs off with no white residue. Having polished my car the other day, it was the bits n pieces that were letting it down, but now its looking sweet.

Well the Extra Gloss Protection is £9:99 for 1 Litre .... given that it gets used on my cars only 4 times a year it's going to last a LONG time

The Super Resin Polish is pretty good value too and does the 2 weekly job remarkably well.

I find that it is the first preparation which pays off more than anything else - thats the wash, a VERY good wash and better rinse ...... drive the car to blow dry it - then, the hard part - but the crunch part - get to work with some mild metallic cutting paste (this is the thing which dictates the quality of the final finish!)

 

Hactually the autoglym Extra Gloss protection is great to use on top of a good wax as a sealer...makes that precious wax protection last longer

Whilst on waxes; I don't like silicone resin waxes...can give a haze effect (almost like swirling, except its not) epecially on metallic blue. Which ends up with having to buff off to remove the excess wax thats causing the haze. No biggy, but theres nothing worse than standing back after finishing to find polish marks all over the car.....

Any carnuba was is good, but isn't as durable (thus the sealer).

Remember, if the paint finish feels rough (should feel like glass), then the bodywork is contaminated. Remove with a cutting polish, automotive panel wipe or a clay bar...only after it feels like glass can you use a resin polish and wax to finish the job.

 

Got a couple of Polish a my work, they are theiving scum.

 

i'm sure this is a wind up, but you say you drive the car to dry it?? contaiminating the clean surface you've just washed?

then you put super resin polish on every two weeks onto a surface that's got the extra gloss protection (a sealer)?

nutter.
