Impreza STi - Full Detail
I detailed this fantastic Subaru Impreza STi over the weekend.
Owner is Mr Riley, Midlands Scoobies Supremo and SIDC Midlands Regional Organiser.
It suffered from some light swirls and scratches.
As you can see the graphics posed a little difficulty, but I masked them off and managed to polish around them.
The bonnet was quite tricky to get the swirls out, I had to make quite a few passes with the machine. I think I spent an hour on the bonnet alone. Ended up using quite abrasive polish and a spot cutting pad. I eventually got 80% removed, I'm sure still that the swirls left were under the top coat!!! PTG readings suggested that it had been resprayed, and the owner confirmed that it may have had a new bonnet or at least had a bonnet respray.
So the really hard paint made sense.
Anyway, it was a joy to do, and I was very pelased with the final result.
Paint correction with a combination of Megs cut and polish pads, menzerna polish and Blackfire SRC.
Finished off with Menzerna PO106FF
The paint was sealed with Poorboys EX-P sealant and was topped off nicely with some Chemical Guys XXX Hard Core Paste wax.
Wheels, wheel arches, trim, and glass all done too.
Here's some 50/50 shots:
This one is the rear quarter showing full swirls:
This one shows 50/50 (The good side is on the left)
This one shows full swirls removed:
This one shows 50/50 on the roof (Good side on right).
And some finished shots:
Hope you like
