Question Paint problems

I have a question for somwone more knowledgable than me.

My friend has a black golf with very noticable buffer trails on it, how are these caused and how do you get rid or them?

Normally caused by a poor detail i.e rushing/not alowing the polish to break down/crappy buffer etc- easly shifted with a PC and some decent polish and pads - golf paint is hard

Would something along the lines of ssr 2.5 and a cutting pad do the job?

it should do, but some buffer trails sometimes need whatever it was that put them in to take them out, i.e - a Rotary polisher

Speed is also a key factor; run the rotary at a constant 2000rpm like most bodyshops and chances are anyone would get holograms, including us. However, if you start with a slow pass at 700rpm to spread, then work at 1500rpm until the polish is mostly broken down, then finish with several slow passes at 700rpm, you'll refine the finish and drammatically cut the chances of leaving any holograms.
