Default Clay bar

I used a clay bar for the first time on thursday and was really impressed with it.
I was just wondering how many times you can use them? Mine was around £7 and it seems a bit expensive to throw away after using once.
Obviously if it drops on the floor its a good idea to throw isnt it?

Thumbs up

I normally break mine in half so you get to use it twice - but I suppose it depends on how dirty the bar gets - I wouldnt risk it if I was you - Split the bar in half then jobs a good un - 2 cars out of one bar.

How long clay bars last depends on how much muck they lift - if it ends up grimey and not folding to a clean face that's the time to bin it (or at least demote it to wheel and glass use only). Sometimes this stage is reached after a few panels (I hate doing cars like this!), but sometimes you can go for 3-4 cars before needing to bin it. As said above, I tend to tear my bars into 3-4 bits, so you make them go further and have spare pieces in case of dropping accidents - always bin clay after dropping it, don't even bother inspecting it and dusting it off - too risky by miles.
