Sonus Polish
ok guys, just got my porter cable through, and it came with some sonus polish (sfx1,2 & 3), some sonus paintwork cleanser and the pads (sfx1,2,& 3) and some sonus rim bright.
not got a clue what all this stuff is cos cant remember ordering it as i just got some of the blackfire gear from pb.
anyway, what i am asking, is this stuff any goodand when would you use it.
i have a 54 sti in wr blue and the paint is good with some very light webbing..
thinking of trying it on the girlfriends dark blue merc ml first to try the products out and get some practice with the pc.
cheers guys

All the Sonus products are well described on Autopia's webby, but essentially the SFX-1 products (both pads and polish) are for serious defects, the SFX-2 products for general polishing (removing minor defects like those you say you have) and the SFX-3 products for glazing. However, knowing Impreza paint, for your car I would use the SFX-2 polish in conjunction with the white pad to remove the cobwebbing, then the blue pad in conjunction with the Blackfire polish to enhance the gloss, then finally the Wet Diamond by hand. Hope that helps!

Oh aye they are good alright, (best Alloy wheel cleaner i've used aswell btw)
The SFX-1 is about the same strength as Poorboys SSR 2.5, but gives a wetter more three dimensional depth.
Look at this thread http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=510532
Just use it in sequence SFX-1 then SFX-2 and then SFX-3 and if you have a detailing spray just give the pad a quick mist before you start. It isn't always necessary to use all three polishes though.
If the SFX-2 doesn't do anything try the SFX-1, it isn't very harsh but a very effective polish. SFX-3 really does enhance the depth, wetness and gloss.
How's this for a shine, it was taken just after polishing and BEFORE any other final step products were applied!
forgot to say, this was the same door before right after it was washed:
