Hey,
For my second scooby I am trying to find myself a nice high mileage cheap 07 Forester Wagon to do the drive up and down the coast from Brisbane, and saw a the tell tale coolant dust on the coolant reservoir one I looked at today. Normally I would see that as a big red flag for some sort of coolant leak/high pressure/head gasket issue, but the pipe going into the reservoir was loose and would slide in and out easily. It's clearly not got a good seal, and the coolant could be evaporating around that so could be as simple as that, does anyone know if that is a common issue on these as I've never seen it before? Or is this definitely another one to be sadly filed as "past it's best"
She drove beautifully and didn't overheat on a 25 min drive in a 35 degree day, but the air con was a bit gutless ( probably to be expected in this heat)
