Can they be turned off? Sick of the flaming sight of them.

Im hoping they will be an optional turn them off like the old ones
I did mention this in the thread of bugs etc the other day
It is a bit annoying and taking up loads of screen space too
I would also like to see the notification that my PM box is over 90% full gone too, I know it is and dont need reminding
