Forum opens in new window? Never used to

Forum opens in new window? Never used to
For a week or so now If you click on forums from the home page it opens a new window, PITA if its one of a few tabs in IE.
However if you click of Forums before the homepage is fully loaded then it will open in the same window.
I don't like it opening in the new window, any chance its an easy fix to have it as before?
