Advert with sound!
I'm getting an advert for this company at the bottom of every thread, with a loud beep, beep, beep as the digital clock counts down.
Seguros LOGO - Oferta para Adesões Online
I know I've complained before about my lack of will power of staying off SN at work, is this an active encouragement?
It seems like a Portuguese company so I expect it's area-generated and I doubt anyone else is getting it (hmm, maybe Janspeed...)
Do you have some blanket command that kills any advert's sound on SN?
Thanks
Brendan

Hi Brendan
Thank you for reporting this. We don't have direct control over the sound, etc.. and as far as I knew, no sound was allowed on those adverts, but I'll check into it.
You could of course part with a handful of coins, and upgede to a ScoobyNet Plus subscription, then you can turn them off without causing scoobynet a problem. There are of course other, underhand ways of blocking them, etc, but then you'll miss other content, and it basically just means ripping scoobynet off.
In the mean-time, I'll see if I can work out how this slipped through.
Please keep me informed.
Cheers
Simon

Thanks Simon. I kept on SN in the day (erm, in lunch and coffee breaks obviously) and didn't see it again - had it two or three times after I reported it and then nothing. I'll let you know if it reappears.
As for parting with coins, I'm not tighter than the proverbial (honest!) but I've been trying to give up SN for the last, aah, year or so, and I feel paying for a subscription would be like going to rehab and then setting up a direct debit with my coke dealer I'm sure you understand
Yours in counselling
