Unhappy Pictures missing in IE7 ??

Morning

Sorry is this has been covered before, but I did search with no results...

I'm not seeing any images on web pages here anymore.

I can see images on all other web sites but not scoobynet. When I go to members gallery for example I can't see any images.. Is this a scoobynet thing or is there some hidden pain in the backside IE7 setting that I need to change??? (Upgraded recently from IE6).

Thanks for your help with this...

Scott

Hi Scott

Could you please explain exactly what you mean? Do you mean that images which people post in their posts do not show up, or that literally no images at all appear (scoobynet appears to you as text only - no logos, no adverts, no buttons, etc, etc)?

Also, when you say you can't see images, do you mean that the image is replaced by a box with an X in it, or that there is just nothing at all where the image is supposed to be?

Please give as much information as possible, and we'll try to sort it out.

Hi

Bit of a strange one. Its only images that people put in their posts that are missing. I see the usual smilies and urls people are adding. I can see the logos on the left pane for example, such as your webmaster logos etc.

The posts purely show text and any urls people have added.... no pictures of cars etc...

Odd thing is this is the only site where I'm seeing this issue. If i go off to scoobyworld or any other sites i can see the images of the parts etc.

No placeholder "x" boxes appear in the posts.

Scott

Hi,

Nope, still the same. Strange thing is the way there are no errors or "x" on the page. I have a privacy report for a blocked cookie, but thats about it.

Scott

FYI - cookie being blocked is http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/aserv/adx.js

Hello again,

Sorry to waste your time on this although the answer may be useful for future people reporting issues similar to this.

I run Zone Alarm as well, and it looks like either something was changed with their last update, or something has changed on photobucket where these images are held. Having the "Banner/Skyscraper Ads" set to be blocked seems to stop the pictures from appearing on this site. (I'm not sure where the link is here but ZoneAlarm appears to think the images are of this type hence doesn't show them).

Thanks for looking into this anyway, hope this info may be of use.

Images are back now...

Scott

Hi Mark,

This is only applicable if you're running ZoneAlarm, although other firewall/blocking software probably has similar settings.

Go into ZA control panel and choose the "Privacy" Menu from the left side.
Choose the "Site List" tab at the top.
Find the reference in the list for "bbs.scoobynet.com" and highlight it.
Click on the "Options" button.
Click on the "Ad blocking" tab at the top.
Make sure that the "Banner/Skyscraper ads" box is UNCHECKED.
Hit "OK" and come out of the ZA control panel.
If you refresh your browser page you should now see the pics.

Cheers,

Scott

Thanks very much Scott.

No problem at all, it was likely to be something like that.

We really appreciate you not running the ad blocking anyway, as otherwise it just costs us money to deliver pages to you, but we are not able to earn money to cover the costs.

Thanks for letting us know.
