Registration-question for mods

Hi!
My pal registered this morning. How long does it take for him to be able to access site properly and post?

He has to receive a validation email and follow instructions, then he will be activated to be able to post. If he has used a Hotmail address and has not received a validation email yet, get him to check his junkmail box.
