Default Maximum results setting?

Probably being thick but is there anyway to change the maxiumum results when searching? Maximum is always 4 pages (100?) results. There are times where this isn't enough if it's a really old thread you're looking for.

Have I missed this somewhere or is it something that can be added?

TIA

(maybe this has been requested before but I just didn't see it )

Hi Trashman

This is simply to reduce load when large search results are trying to be returned. 100 threads should be easility enough, as we have a very advanced search facility so you should be able to refine down to the ones you want.

Cheers

Disagree..

Being as I can't access my old Fuzz username it's a pain not being able to find what I'm looking for.
(Search using user name, rather than thread title as usually thred title is forgotten.)

Andy

P.s search facility is about as advanced as a Limulus polyphemus.

Andy,

The reason that you cant access your 'Fuzz' account is that it is awaiting e-mail validation, if you cant remember your password then follow the link below :-

I'll just like to officially say that the search engine Sucks

I honestly think that the old scoobynet BBS search engine gave far more fruitful and accurate results, even though it was only limited to keywords.

The current one seems to pull up everything that I don't want and is completely irrelevant to what I've entered or I get nothing at all.

Ali

If you use the 'Advanced Search' you can pretty much refine it down to what you want.

Yeah that's what I always use...it's still crap

I suspect there is a huge wad of threads not indexed or indexed wrongly.

Unfortunatly the indexing of threads is a very server intensive process, I dont know what is and isn't index TBH with you, only Simon or Shaun would be able to give you a better idea of that, but all new threads since we moved to vB will be indexed.

Had a brain wave and thought I'd look in the trash folder in Hotmail...

Nothing there either.
