Basically since DIY had its own section its gone a bit downhill,the only people that go there are serious DIYers,you miss out on any good advice from the casual DIYer.
Personally i'd prefer it if it was put back.

the serious DIYers who pedal the advice in the section dish out excellent advice and if it were "put back" they would not bother hunting down threads to which they could give a decent answer.
