Now that we're in 2003, it would be nice if the date boxes in 'Search' were pre-filled with logical values.

For example, the end date should either be today's date as a default, or something like 31 Dec 9999. 1 Jan 2002 seems OK for the start date at the moment.

Hear hear! I often use search to find posts on Foresters as they tend to fly off the front page too quickly!

Maybe it would be better with relative dates rather than absolute? For example, default could be 'search for articles in the last 3 months', or a year, or something?
