Question

Anyone ever tried the combination of:

Scorpion downpipe
Scorpion centre pipe
Remus 2x90 Back box

The remus is under the car, and if i don't have to change it, i'll leave it on. Can get scorpion at a good price, so would upgrade the now standard catted down+centre to catless scorpion.

Any insights, comments, ideas, opinions, soundfiles?

Thanks
Simon (Belgium MY98 Turbo)

Only insight on the Remus BB, I'm afraid, but it's a start!
Very quiet BB, about as restrictive as the PPP one (so pretty good unless you're fussy ). Doesn't sound very exciting, though, but better than the original one (obviously!). It certainly shouldn't cause you any 'performance' problems.

Thanks,

I have the Remus with the standard centre and downpipe, and it's too damn quiet for me... Not to say the restriction from those damn cats is driving me nuts

Now if the Remus, in combination with the scorpion front end, will remove the restriction (+turbo lag), give me a better sound (at least somewhat louder) and so, i'm happy...

So anyone running this Remus BB with catless downpipe and centre pipe?

Thanks
Simon

I'm running with a Remus backbox - along with a MRT high-flow cat downpipe and MRT centre with muffler/silencer - still quiet...

Thanks

a m8 has a full scorpion too, love the sound too. He had the standard exhaust when he bought the car new, had the whole thing replaced after the run in period...

The guy that bought my car new had the Remus fitted, it was an option at the time. As it's already a sports BB, i'm inclined to leave it on, and just replace the down and centre pipe... Hence my question...

Is there any performance gain to be expected if i replace the Remus with a fully open exhaust BB like Magnex or the Scorpion BB?

Thanks

I think you'll find that the Remus is as 'open' as virtually any other BB - certainly unless you are actually measuring things rather than driving
The best order of changing would seem to me to be what you're doing - get rid of the cats, see if it's loud enough; if not, change the BB. There's nothing wring with it apart from the noise level!

Where in England can I get a Scorpion backbox?

I want to buy it by email and have it shipped to Switzerland?

Does anyone know a good company that can sell it to me through Internet?

thanks

It's probably worth speaking to Jamie of JW Racing as he has good prices & excellent service, so could probably arrange to ship to you! He'll probably pop up in a mo, anyway...
