Default Fuel Pump Fail?

Went to start car this morning - turned over ok but failed to start. Did'nt hear the whirr of the fuel pump though when ignition on. Checked fuses etc.
Do the pumps just fail, as was fine yesterday?
MY05 STi by the way.

Not sure on the Newage but the Classics have a multi-pin male/female plug under the rear seat on the drivers side which carries all the electrics to the fuel pump. These are prone to burnt out pins and give the same symptons.

It could simply be a relay or fuse. Do you have any other components not working?

Check wiring plugs as they can cause issues on newage as well. Do you know what pump you have fitted ?

If you need a pump we have them here http://www.scoobyworx.com/fuel-systems-38-c.asp

Thanks Guys,
Will go and systematically check fuses and relays, have a look under the back seat, and then take it from there.

On my classic it was the round fuel pump relay up behind the dash about where your right knee is when driving. Not the relay itself but one of the wires had snapped just before the connector.

Thanks for all the advice folks. Pulled all the fuses - ok. Will have a look at the relays and wires next. May be of no significance but I have the DCCD gearbox, when ignition is left on (after around 10 secs) the light goes from AUTO at the top (orange) to flashing fully open at the bottom (green) without me touching a damn thing! More investigation required on a typically cold and wet day.
