Don't skimp on tyres my freind, especially if they are going to be your only set. Buy cheap, buy twice.
I have the Goodyear F1 Assy 2's and I think they are fantastic, wet or dry, cold or hot. They are a bit soft in the sidewall department but it makes for a comfortable and predictable tyre. The grip levels are simply amazing from these tyres.
But a few people on here will say that there is no such thing as good all year round tyre and that you should invest in a set of winter tyres. If you don't, you must consider yourself to selfish, lazy, tight, stupid etc.

I've done 14,000 miles on Assym 2's and they've been the best tyres I've ever used over 15 years of driving.

In winter it's frequently as warm as spring or autumn. This isn't Canada so I don't get where this fad comes from for winter season tyres. Well I do, but that might start a rant. In winter if it's cold and slippery SLOW DOWN. Toyo T1R for me, but mine's a classic so lighter than some.

Depends where you live. If like me you look to the mountains in winter and spend a lot of time heading to them at 3/4am when there's ice, frost and frequently uncleared snow on the roads winter's more than pay for themselves. If you're just sitting on motorways or other A roads they're a little unnecessary...

Nokian WRG3 are great all season's but I definitely wouldn't consider the Eagle F1's all season's. You can get away with them in snow, but they really aren't even close to even an all season, let alone a winter. They're a summer tyre, and as such they're fine for 90% of the British population to use year round.
