2003 wrx wagon problems HELP ME

Help I have a 2003 wrx sports wagon. The engine light has come on I'm losing coolant and there is a great deal of white smoke coming out the exhaust. Is this just head gasket or am I in a whole world of pain?

First thoughts head gasket, any gunk on the oil cap? Get it checked ASAP mate

If it is head gasket if I get it done will it be sorted? Someone said waste of money cause crank would drop after 200mile!
