does anyone elses water gauge go up and down all the time, sometimes going in the the clear sqaure area at the top, for a while, then go back and then up again, whilst either raggin it, or just sitting in traffic?

 

Sounds serious, I would get it checked out straight away. It might only be a thermostat or some other small problem.

Mine stays permently a 1/3 of the way up the gauge and never moves much.

Have you checked the water level and to see if the Fan works (i.e Fan fuse, Fan Sensor and Fan motor?)

i`m not a scooby owner.but that symptonis an indication of air in your water works.you need to bleed your cooling system to get rid of it.the level of the coolant has been left low enough to suck in air.when you are doing the bleeding check all pipes and jubilee clips for tightness and leaks.there maybe aspecial procedere to follow no dowt with the expertise demonstrted on this bord yu will be fine.
