hi guys

my 02 wrx is making a whistling noise when accelerating hard,

has my td04 packed up?

checked the y pipe and intercooler joiner for splits but it seems ok

any ideas?

 

Sounds like an air leak to me!

 

I would tend to agree... A whistle generally indicates some sort of air leak between the turbo and the inlet manifold... A Turbo that is on it's way out tends to whine or sound like a noisy bearing running at high speed.

 

Ok guys will take the top mount off and have a proper poke about

 

My widetrack whistles under load... Doesit come from the glovebox area ish?
