Just been setting up the go pro's and mic. I have installed the mic in the rear bumper to try get some good engine noise and as little wind noise as possible.
Opinions on position of camera and sound welcome! There is still road noise, but on throttle you can't really hear it so I am pretty happy with it.
(oh and ignore the iPad, that won't be there on the track day)
just bought a hero 3hd what ext mic are you using is it the go pro one ?
I have a Hero2 and a Hero3, the Hero 2 uses a standard 3.5mm jack for the mic as opposed to the new mini usb on the hero 3 (although I got a mic converter for it off ebay for £2 when gopro want £30!!, just search mini usb to jack converter)
I bought a tie mic from maplin, comes with a 3mm cord and wired it up through the number plate light grommet, clipped on some metalwork in between the bumper and the car. Its a must as the mics on the go pro's are awful!!
Get the go pro app if you have an ipad or an iphone, saves a lot of time and helps you position the cams quickly.
