Default De-cat downpipe - Newage

Hi all

Looking for a bit of advise. I have a 2005 STI complete with a full turbo-back Milltek, and mapped to suit. The Milltek has the sports can fitted in the downpipe, and im looking to remove in order to fit a de-cat.

Two questions really, firstly, what downpipe would you all recommend I buy? I'm thinking of just buying the Milltek downpipe to match the existing system?

Secondly, mapping the car again to suit the de-cat. Is this really necessary right away? Only as I will be fitting more parts in the next few months and then getting it mapped after its all fitted? (Manifold/Up-pipe and maybe turbo)

Thanks

I would wait. Fit everything in one go and then get it mapped. Its impossible to say whether it will be ok with a decat. Some cars are and others arnt. Mine had awful boost spikes once i decated. Others report there cars to be ok.

At least it ought to be checked, so my advise would be wait until your ready to map

Is it a sports cat or is it a resonator? Mine has a full Milltek turbo back and it has a can in the down pipe but its just a resonator not a cat, just incase you didn't know

That settles that issue then! I just automatically assumed the cat would be in the downpipe!

Many thanks lads, I will replace the centre section instead and fit everything at once

That is the reason I thought it was in the downpipe! I had seen companies selling them as pictured in the Ebay post. It doesn't help that the resonator in the centre section looks the same as the one in the downpipe!

Might be best to just email milltek to confirm I think
