Default tappety ticking noise

Hi Guys,

Not the best description but when im driving after the cars warmed up etc - i will hear a tappet sounding noise coming from the engine. But when i put my foot on the clutch it goes?

Any ideas?

I have it too, but i know what mine is..

Try manually twisting the throttle with one hand whilst holding the turbo actuator rod with the other ( pliers or mole grips help or even a bit of strip, just to lift the rod up ), i thought mine was the turbo heatshield until i took it off and still had the same issue....

Hopefully an easy fix but it could also be input shaft bearings on the gearbox.
