ECU light on post exhaust replacement - help!
Can anyone make sense of this please:
I've got an 03 non-turbo sport wagon, 80K miles. The exhaust recently gave up and my wife drove it conservatively short distances whilst the parts came. She mentioned, after the fact(!), that the ECU light had been on and off a bit after the exhaust completely gave up (very loud). It was once on 3 years back briefly, but never otherwise on in the last 4 years. Full after market exhaust including CAT now fitted. Sportier than the standard so quite a bit less back pressure I would think. Original 02 sensors refitted either side of the CAT. Took it for a drive after fitting, no ECU light on. Quick blast down the motorway, ECU light on after dropping down to 30mph. ECU light now on constantly. Read the code thinking that the exhaust shop may have damaged an 02 sensor. The only code displayed was P0328 - knock sensor. Reset it, no code. Back on motorway, off slip, light back on... Should I just go ahead and fit a new knock sensor? Is this likely to be the first thing the dealer would do anyway? Any advice much appreciated.
