pslewis,i saw your original posting and even prepared a reply, then i couldnt upload for some reason know i know why, heres wot i wrote:
wow, a real life person slagging off the subaru warranty scheme! I thought I was virtually alone in my rhetorhic about uk specs being well overpriced and underspeced with too much emphasis being placed on "cast iron" warranties. As i have said before the new WRX for the Jap consumer gets 32 bhp more than the official uk 'WRXs' and for several thousand pounds less (I stand corrected if anyone knows any different)

Can someone tell me why certain buyers are still queueing for Uk cars? There are more imported imprezas in this country than official ones. Most of these owners are banished from servicing at subaru dealers because they are grey imports. By adopting such an ostrich view Subaru UK not only missed out on any servicing and parts for these cars they fuelled a niche in the market for specialist companies servicing them. I bet the owners of such firms have made a mint out of this silly decision. Personally, subaru UK have done me a favour. By refusing to service my cars, at what probably is approx £50 an hour rates,I have saved loads of cash and found someone with more specialist knowledge than their mechanics have about performance cars.
