Default Mesh for facelift classic front bumper help please.

Hello all.
I replaced the radiatior for my MY99 classic this weekend, and the rad looked so good that I want to protect it from the elements. I saw the state of the old one, and I would rather the new one stayed - NEW.

So I looked behind the front bumper and the cut out if flat enough to fit some silver or black mesh. What I want to know is what size and where would you recommend I get.

I have seen the Pro-R/OEM ones and they are too expensive. I would rather do something myself cheaper and have the satisfaction of a DIY mod.

Also, I replaced the Y-pipe for the TMIC with a silicone item, but the old jubilee clip is not up to the task. What size do you recommend please.

Many thanks.

Jason.

I've got some black powder-coated 'small honeycomb' mesh in the lower maw of my STi 5's front bumper (it protects my FMIC). Obviously my bumper's 'central bar' has been cut away for the FMIC.

The black honeycomb mesh matches the black honeycomb grille on the MY99/00 cars - looks tidy, stealthy and 'OEM'.

Here are some options for the mesh:-

ALUMINIUM BLACK MESH GRILL

Hello.
Thanks for the reply. That link is blocked by work network. I will look later.

Do you remember what size you bought?

This is the item I bought (ages ago in 2010):-

ALUMINIUM BLACK MESH KAMEI GRILL BUMPER SUBARU SUZUKI

...No longer available.

But just make sure the overall dimensions are the same (or greater) - i.e. no less than 1000mm x 250mm - and that the honeycomb 'cells' measure a similar size i.e. c.12mm x 5mm.

You won't be disappointed with its aesthetic.

Thank you very much.

My car is blue. Initially I thought of silver, but i prefer the black to match the mirrors and door handles etc which will be repainted gloss black. I will also have the wheels painted black and the 4 pots and rear calipers painted blue.

Cheers.

Silver/bare ally will look gash!

It only looks 'right' on *****-out cars, like track/Time Attack cars, when the rest of styling is aggressive and in yer face, etc.
