Default BBS Forged Lightweight Wheels

I am putting a set of freshly refurbished BBS forged wheels up for sale, I bought them in desperate need of loving attention which they have more than received.

When I got them they had curbing marks, someone had tried to repaint them in a sort of bronze but they made a right mess of it and it looked bloody terrible with what can only be described as a horrid mix of red and gold.

I had the tyres removed and binned, and then they were refurbished by a local paint shop who did a cracking job (in the correct colour code GK1) and I then put them into storage with some nearly new tyres (all tyres have around 7.5mm of tread as opposed to around 8.00mm for a brand new tyre) which I swapped over from another set of wheels I had.

As I had the car up with Ryan (Prodriverules) having some paintwork I decided it was time to fit the BBS wheels, but I then changed my mind on the paint finish and had Ryan to redo them in the same colour code but with a high gloss finish as opposed to the bare gloss finish that they had.

So when it came time to fit the BBS wheels to my Spec C I had a call from Ryan telling me that the wheels would not clear the front AP 6 pot calipers, and the only way was to skim some material from the caliper and having had a think about it I decided not to go down that route.

To say I was devastated is an understatement as I had been trying to source a set of these wheels for nigh on 2 years, and when I had a set in excellent condition they wouldn't fit.

So I am offering up for sale my BBS forged wheels which are shod with Goodyear Efficient Grip 225/45/17 which have as already stated around 7.5mm of grip on all tyres. These are suitable for a PCD size of 5x100 which means that they will fit all STi models until the widetrack Blobeye was introduced, all WRX models including I believe the Hatch, all classic models.

Below are some pics taken today for me by Ryan as the wheels are still with him.

Here are a couple of pics of them fitted to my car, obviously on the rear as they won't clear on the front.

These are as rare as rocking horse poo and don't come up for sale very often, I have seen a set with bald tyres and in desperate need of refurbishment sell for £599 plus carriage on eBay (also they didn't have the centre caps either which are around £140 for a set).

I am not going to give these wheels away for peanuts, I am offering these for the price of £975 inc delivery to anywhere in the mainland UK.

Please feel free to ask any questions by PM or by posting up on this thread.

Don't give me that "they won't fit cos of the AP's", you don't drive the car hard enough to warrant AP's

I think from memory they are from Rally Creations, I bought the brand new from another member on here for £25 inc delivery which had to be the bargain of the century.

Thanks Ian, after all the searching and then buying them locally in the end I couldn't believe it when I found out they didn't clear the AP's.

Thanks they look even better in the flesh with some sunlight on them, but they are too big to use as paperweights.

Could you not run a spacer on the front to clear the caliper?

It's not the spokes that have the clearance issue it's the inside of the rim which catches on the top and bottom corners of the caliper.

I wish it were that simple to use spacers, that was my first thought.

Ah I see, I thought it was a bit too obvious to suggest spacers!

I may be interested in a trade against some other 5x100 PCD wheels, some rear AP Racing newage calipers or an uprated twin scroll turbo (better than the billet LM400 I currently have).
