I have been hearing funny knocking and creaking noises on and off coming from what I thought was my rear suspension.

However, I remember having this on my old 54 plate STi five years ago, and remembered what the cure was.

It was the boot springs which sit across the width of the boot lid just behind the back of the rear seats at the top.

I sprayed them today, and the boot hinges with a PTFE or silicone type spray and the noises have stopped.

Might be worth a try if you can hear things. I gave them a good spray all over and wiped off the access, works a treat.
