Just put a v6 type r box in my rally car but haven't had my diff controller through yet, question is, with nothing plugged into the diff control plug Wat will the diff be running? And is it ok to run like that?

there loads of threads on here about that.

it will be fine but diff will run open. 70% torque to rear 30% to front, forget correct ratio but its along those lines.

im assuming car had 4.44 rear diff fitted before/ during swap?

 

Not a definate answer but my mate had one in his V4 and accidently knocked the wires of the diff controller switch when removing part of the centre console, This made it go into diff free(64 rear/ 36 front, or i know it is on the newage), Got a little bit of clunking on slow conering but you can give it 1 click on the handbrake until the warning light comes on and it solves it a bit, not always though?

In ver6 and earlier dccd, with disconnected controller, it will work in fully open diff, so there will be defo no clunking .

In open diff the ratio will be 64% to the rear and 36% to the front, so more like a RWD setup.

And yes with controller properly connected, pulling the handbrake is changing the diff to open. It will return to preselected position after releasing the handbrake.
