can anyone tell where to find the gearbox code on my 97 turbo 2000 ive been told by a mechanic that 1st gear has had it so need to replace the gearbox and been told on here it needs to be the same code or come with the diff also if anyone has a gearbox they want to sell me thats right...

The gearbox code is stamped on the VIN plate on the passengers inner front wing under the bonnet. The code on the box itself can be seen on the top edge of the box where it mets the engine on the passengers side, look below the intercooler and you should see it.

 

As above but check your box code as it might of been swapped with previous owners.
