Default getting paint off my engine after painting on?!

ok,

well a few months ago i was planning a big clean up under my engine bay, so i bought all my nice high temp silver engine paint in a pot with a brush a can of nice silver high temp paint, but when it came down to it i done the lazy ******* thing and just whacked it on without scotching or scuffing it up, i painted over the dirt and crap and it sort off now has a dusty crusty finish, (you know that crap finish with loads of bits in) who knows what i was thinking when i did it , question now is i want to strip parts off the engine and do it properly but where do i go from now?? also theres paint on the pipes and most other parts?!

bloody idiot i am, why oh why did i rush it!

any ideas on how to go about doing a good paint job on the block and manifold and alternators bits like that, without removal of the engine?

many thanks, Jamie

ideally i should have just used some engine cleaner/degreasent and blasted it off first carefully most likely would have come up clean without the need for paint on the block, but now ive painted over the crap and im stuck!?

thanks!.

On the metal,to remove the paint you could use Nitromors.
Wouldnt use it on the rubber parts tho.
