Drilled pedals - worth it?

fitted my sparco CF pedals and yes easier to heel n toe !
wasnt that bad drilling the pedals either just lock a peice of wood under pedal and use a small pilot drill first

The idea of drilling is to provide a grippier surface for your shoes to grab on to.
Some of the pedal set ups we see are shockingly bad. Loose fittings, and far too close together in some cases, so you can't avoid hitting the throttle and brake at the same time.
The "heel and toe" bit is to enable the toe to stay on the brake while the heel tweaks the throttle in a blip for a clean downchange. If you've just arrived at Avon Rise (Castle Combe) with 120 mph plus on and you want to turn in at Quarry you need to be sure you get hit the correct gear cleanly. This involves smooth progressive braking, so you don't transfer too much momentum to the front, and a clean shift so you can get back on the power before the corner, pushing the tail out and avoiding the nasty understeer.
If you hit the wrong pedal you're in the kitty litter big style, or worse, somebody gets past you while you're fumbling.
