Default Re-Shell to a later version

I currently own a nice V3 WRX. Since buying another economic car, i left the wrx as a weekend toy and wouldn't mind some more power

A mate of mine has a V5 (or 6) STI (JDM) and the body is in a very bad state and he won't repair it as its not worth it. He offered it to me at a very cheap price.

My question is, are both shells the same ? that is, Is it possible to swap shells and swapping everything such as seats, dash, wiring loom, engine, dccd gearbox, quick ratio steering rack and all the good things.

Sorry if this has been posted before, I am new in the scooby world.

Thanks

It's do-able, yes, but a major project.

Do you have workspace? The right tools? The knowhow?

So strictly speaking the V3 and V5/6 have an identical shell and can swap everything.

Although i never did major work on the scooby (apart from the routine services), i did do some major surgery on other cars. I should have most of the tools needed, but I wish i had a 4 post lift in my garage.

Thanks
