Default Squeaky seat belt ??

Does anyone know how to stop the squeak on the seat belt on my Bug? It makes the noise every time I pull out the belt to put it on, apparently it's a common thing. I've took of the interior trim and WD40 'd everywhere and still can't stop it !!!
Please help 😡

If you look in general technical archives there is a thread on how to fix it, I did it and it works!

Simple fix guys..... 10 minutes both sides can be done. The nice bit of grey plastic the seatbelt comes out of is the problem. It has ribs inside it, over time they weara dn thin out then vibrate as the seatbelt is pulled out. On the back of the trim there's a locking pin (sit in the rear seat you'll see it). Pop that out then then the trim just pulls off, it can be a tight fit as it curls around the front and back of the B pillar.

Then just cut out the top bar, it should be thin and easy to cut. I just used a leatherman and did both sides in 10 minutes.

Honestly it's the problem you have. mine did it on my blobeye when i bought it and it drove me insane for about 3 weeks before i figured it out!
Simple job, i did it during a lunch break at work and it seriously only takes 10-15 minutes

Is it the plastic at the top or bottom?

The top, it'll be the highest cross bar. You should see it's turned thin and vibrates like a guitar string when you pull the seatbelt out. A particularly out of tune and annoying guitar string......
Trim out the top bar and and all will be well.

i have the same on my bug also on both sides took the trim off and kinda guessed that it was the plastic it was rubbing on so for a temporary fix i bent the plastic bit in and it did work for a while but looks like im gonna have cut it down as it has come back.
