Default hawkeye wrx engine managment light

Hi every one,
I was out in the car today and i booted it 1st and second to around 5000 rpm then slowed up then engine light came on the car started hunting reving high and low then had no power. so switched it off( i have gauges and no loss of oil press or hotting up) waited a minute and dried my eyes started it again and was okay but engine light still on any ideas???

Other thing I put 60 quid of fuel the other day and only got around 130 miles before the light came on and i don't normally gun it as i have the baby in the car could it be the maf sensor???

cheers Spence
