Sorry Ian, you may find people a bit thin on the answer to that one. I have one that we use for emissions purposes for people and it works perfectly on Classic and Newage cars with an adaptor we made to switch between the two.

Martyn

P.S The Magnaflow one will probably work just fine !

Interestingly enough, we made well over 500 bhp from a 2.1 with the sport cat fitted!

Absloutely, always best in the downpipe.
Our adapted version is one we had made in house when we still had our stainless exhaust fitter. Unfortunately he wasn't very good at getting to work every day, so we had to let him go

And I always thought cat's were a big no no on a tuned car. I will stick with a decat, mine always seems to pass no probs infact the emmissions reading were identical to a 1.2 coras that was in the garage at the time

If the cat is big enough and 100 cpi, not 200, it shouldn't limit power too much. I think there are some rallycross catalysts available that should be fine at 500 bhp.

something like this put into the down pipe might work.

would it work if it was in the centre section?

It might work in the centre section if it's wrapped well and has plenty of heat in it when you test it.
