Question

Has anyone fitted an alternative air filter to their WRX with PPP? If so which one, how much, and whats the verdict?

Ive got an ITG Panel filter in my UK300 with PPP, the difference is marginal but it lasts longer as well.

Also every few BHP helps.....

Thanks Mark. Anybody replaced the full air box (not sure if I can!), perhaps with one of the cone type filters?

turbo

from what i've read, when you opt for an induction kit instead of a straight panel filter swop, thats when you start to get problems with maf sensor failure?
maybe i'm wrong
i went for an ITG panel. sounds lots better (whoooosh) but cant honestly say i noticed a performance gain.

Fitted an itg panel filter to my 02wrx(ppp)
I haven't noticed any difference in performance whatsoever.
Some increase in induction noise but barely noticable.
IMO waste of money?

The filter will last much longer than the standard part and will provide much better filtration of dust particles. So IMHO I don't really think its a waste of money. For someone wanting more performance maybe the induction kit is a better option.

Hi

The ITGs are certainly very good, but we are just waiting for the new Blitz SUS Power Air Induction Kits (cone filters) for the WRXs. Very very nice and some good gains to be had.

Let me know if you'd like any details.

Question

Hi Jamie...

I presumed and many people too, that cone filters and direct admissions were not a good idea for turbocharged vehicles (temperature inside the motor place).

Hi

There are mixed feeliings on this one, but basically the new Blitz airfilter has a heat sheild which helps keep the warm air at bay.

Also we have seen excellent gains from the Blitz SUS (and other) cone filters.
