Question

I bought a scooby last April (Turbo MY00) and after about 500-600 miles the engine didn't feel as though it was firing quite right from a cold start until it had warmed up slightly (half a mile). On the next service I mentioned it to my dealer and he said it was a small fault with the EMU and there was nothing that could be done about it (a feature maybe?). Has anybody else had this problem and how did you resolve it?

Cool

Mine always feels rough went first started at which time I stay below 3000rpm until the temp gauge reaches normal (middle of gauge).

If it is running fine when warm I wouldn't worry unless it starts getting worse....

IMHO....

Wink

Cheers JGM, but I wonder if anybody out there in Scoobyland has cured this with a chip upgrade.

Cool

Perhaps the dealer got his ECU muddled with EMU.... if you put you hand under the bonnet do you get bitten by a muppet????

OK, sensible answer....

It is indeed a "feature" - the famous surging you will see a big post on in the (I think) drivetrain forum.

Both our MY00's do it.

Subaru were allegedly working on a reprogrammed ECU but this has gone quiet.

It can be cured by fitting the PPP, must lobby Mike Wood at Prodrive to fit me one under warranty.....

You find yourself driving round it after a while.....
