Default Little Plastic / metal bits above door window

Hi can anyone please tell me what the plastic / metal "tabs" are that sit over the front door rubbers above the window? Mine seem to be preventing the door from shutting properly. They keep catching the window when closing the door... It's a 1998 scooby.

sounds like yours might of had wind deflectors fitted at some point although a pic would help.

Always thought those little tabs were to stop the window getting misaligned when closing and when at speed.

Think Galifrey's right, pretty sure they are to keep the window aligned - most cars without window frames have them.

I remember them, had them on a MY98 UK, haven't got them on my MY00 sti....I always thought they were to stop the front of the window from popping out at speed. They were a pain tho, especially when you close the window with the door open, always thought I was going to break the glass!!

This is the image of the offending bit... Would it just be a case of maybe bending it up a little, so as it doesn't hit the glass when I shut the door?
