Well the 2ltr is the stronger engine and has considerably less chance of blowing up, the 2.5 is a weaker block and internals so has a greater chance of letting go, especially if you start modifying it.

but if its running a standard 2.5ltr block and internals then yes, I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole as your asking for problems with it...

No, mine is a Spec C limited, it had a few differences over the standard MY03/04 cars, the 2005 cars brought it more in line engine wise though mine has the vf36 roller bearing turbo, engine and transmisson oil coolers and the different geometry setup (and springs), cooling system, anti surge fuel pump etc, but as that one has had a fully forged 2.5ltr engine done it should be ok at that power
