Default Clutch Help

Hi guys and gals,

First day on scoobynet so be gentle lol

right, i bought a MY05 05 plate 2,0 GX sport and i suspect the clutch is dodgy, when setting off or changing gear i can't feel the bite point at all.

So my question is, I've been looking for a clutch and I've come across one for a EJ201 engine and as far as I'm aware i have a Ej20 engine (need to double check) but if i was to buy this clutch would it fit pleasantly.

This is the description of the clucth :-

"Will Fit Cars Below
Subaru Impreza Sport GX 2.0 EJ201 10/2000 to 2007"

Thanks
Chris aka Kain

have a look at the engine code on your vin plate under the bonnet first bud, suggest might be worthwhile getting a clutch of a reputable supplier such as http://www.superhids.co.uk/

thanks for the reply.

Just checked now LOL EJ201(and bunch of letters) could of sworn it was EJ20, it's my first subaru, and i've only had it couple of months.

The clutch being offered to me is a exedy one, brand new £100 seems quite cheap to me (then there fitting the frigger lol)

Ta for the help mate.

no worrys chris, excedy is a good clutch ifs its new and genuine ?
just incase you wondered why its ej20 "1! its because all phase 2 engine have a numerical suffex after the ej20 depending on type ej20 (from 1-8) and ej25(from 1-7) , ta Dave

well bit the bullet, bought the clutch and having it fitted by a mate at the cost of £130 which doesn't seem too bad.

Just hope it is the clutch after all this.
