Default Impreza rear bearing

Hi all, I have had a rear bearing replaced today on my impreza, When i eventually picked the car up and drove it home, There is still a rumbling noise after 30 mph and also when slowing down to stop but its not quite as bad as it was before this one was replaced. The guy who fixed it examined the bearing when it was out and said it wouldnt have lasted much longer as it had started to wear on the edges or something. Could it be the other sides bearing on the back or is there maybe a problem with the diff ? Any replies would be appreciated, Cheers Nick.

Jack the car up and give the wheel a wobble vertically, if there is play it very well could be the bearing.

Thanks

Any sound when you spin the wheel jacked up?
What type of sound is it, constant, intermitant, anything more than rumbling?
I've got a sound coming from my N/S/F at the moment and i believe it to be the driveshaft joint, it squeeks and also knocks, although it doesn't rumble. Is yours knocking/squeeking at all?

Thanks
Sam

Hi mate, No there's no knocking or squeaking at all, it seems to get noisy between 30 - 40 mph and then when i am slowing down it starts when the car has nearly stopped? Cheers Nick.
