Hesitation Cure - Have you seen this?
I found this site:-http://www.geocities.com/hobiegary/hesitation.htm
Has anyone tried this before? does it sound like complete rubbish.
Your Thoughts/Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

It's been around a while, but not heavily adopted for UK Scoobs AFAIK. The best cure for a hesitating MY00 is a MY99 ECU it seems. I've not heard of many MY99s hesitating compared with MY00.
I'm not convinced that the fix as stated on that web page is a good one. I say this because what they seem to be doing is making the Knock Sensor less sensitive to cure the problem. This has got to be "A Bad Thing" (tm)
. As I see it, what will happen is, the ECU/Knock Sensor will see less Knock than it would have done before, meaning that it will retard the timing later than before at the onset of Knock.
Can't be good. Once again, all just IMHO

The knock sensor is known to be too sensitive on some vehicles(ie. pick's up engine noise other than knock, cam follower 'tap' for example) and was recognised by some Subaru importers round the world as a problem (see a bbs on Legacy's)! There have been several 'fixes' mainly involving desensitising the sensor, best one I have seen is an electronic filter in-line with the sensor that filters out signals that are not like 'knock'.
