Default gear box gone

hi my gear box has gone in second its knocking badly :-( my cars a 97 uk 2000 turbo and what i want to know is do i need to know my exact gear box or will any classic gear box be ok? and if ill be fine with most gear boxs are the sti 1s better an worth getting?

thnx im not that engine minded so any help apreciated i also dont want to spend to much cash so if any 1s got a spare box??

You will need the number of your box it's just to the right of your intercooler on a White sticker. On my thread a few down from yours there is link in there. that will help you find the final drive details etc they need to match yours or you will need change the box and rear diff. Uk boxes are different from imports.

I have matched a different number gearbox to my rear diff as it has the same final drive.
I will be selling my old gearbox that the front diff has died but the gears are fine. So you could poss swap the gears out.

Your code should be TY752VN5BA

Youll need a gearbox from a 96-99 uk turbo for a direct replacement as the diff ratios are all the same on these cars
