basicaly im still trying to get a 2.5 engine to drop into my sport rally car,

the reaseach ive done shows the ej251 sohc engine although sufffers from headgasket issues over 100k, also uses a map sensor as aposed to a maf, weras the ej253 sohc uses a maf, the sport uses a maf, but can u change to a map so i can run the ej251? as i was told you need to match the engine to the year of the car, so a ej251 is from the same year legacy, wer as the ej253s are from the newer 04- legacy

any one shed some light on this ......
