exhaust seal on tdo4

exhaust seal on tdo4
Can someone enlighten me please as i sold a turbo and now the guy is saying the exhaust seal has gone.

will be the oil seal on the exhaust housing side of the turbo has gone.

Or he might mean one of the gaskets on the up/down pipes?

think he's trying it on had no problems with it when fitted to my car is it an easy cheap fix to reimberse him some money?
