hi, i have a 1998 UK Turbo 2000 - just wondering if anyone can tell me where my ecu is located lol

and what should it say on it like a code to see if the last ower has changed it blah blah blah and is there anyway i can tell if its been chipped or something like if its been opened etc etc...

It should be under the passenger side footwell,pull the carpet up and remove the 4 x 10 mm nuts and the ecu is under the kickplate. .No way to tell if it has been mapped by looking at it visually ,but if it has a SP sticker on it it may well be a prodrive unit.Post up the numbers on the ecu once you have located it.

As far as i know you cannot remap a version 4 ecu which on mine was an 8S which i changed for a prodrive version.

 

yer thats why im going to have a peak at it later, see if its a prodrive because i cant see hardly any mods and the car is defo not running 215 bhp its definately rapider. so im just trying to check it over ive only had it a week and im thinking of dumping the misses for more cash for the other girl in my life haha.

 

well if its any consolation. i have a mate with an UK MY98 turbo & with a 8S ecu. car is running induction kit and 3inch cat back exhaust, nowt else and it is literally side by side with mine, and mine is 260bhp/270lbft prodrive MY99. was very surprised by his car to the fact we had a look to see if it was running a prodrive ecu or anything
