Very good and informative site......
And while I in no way condone speeding, read through the site in-between the lines as well.
It does state this
quote:
DON'T FOOL YOURSELF - INAPPROPRIATE SPEED KILLS

Every day, on average, 10 people are killed and around 120 are seriously injured in road accidents

It does not say how many of those are caused by inappropriate (i.e. excessive) speed although the implication is that all are...........

Understand what you mean. But the site is called ukspeedtrap.

The point i'm tyring to make is the technology used. Automatic number plate reading linked to an often outdated ( by DVLA admission) keepers database.

Forward facing cameras that can tell if you have shaved or brushed your teeth.

Scoobies that can drive over speed ramps at 70mph.

Automatic Tax disc readers.

The list goes on.

Soon you want even need to be stopped to be breathlysed. They will point a atmospheric spectrum anaylyser in your cars direction and anylyse the amount of alcohol molocules eminating from your car.

All this is for our saftey, but it all seems so intrusive.

Why don't we just ban private motorists and fill the nation with monorails driven by goverment vetted drivers.

Question

Talking of speed trap locations, can anyone tell me what that GPS gizmo is, that will beep when approaching a fixed site.
It seems to run off a database of traps that are fed from various sources.
Since detectors are likely to be banned in future, will this aid be our only salvation?

Never heard of one of them.

By the sounds of it... I want one.

Wonder how you update it.

Talking

It's called the morpheus geodesy and costs 380 quid.

It's VERY cool. Updates are performed by inserting it into it's cradle, which then dials up morpheous and downloads the updates from them, via modem.
