If fitting an MD312H to a blobeye sti for 400bhp will I need to get aftermarket headers or will the turbo fit straight with the standard unequal headers? Dont want to lose the rumble. Also are the standard unequal headers able tocope with this. thanks for any answers on this

 

Hi there you don't need aftermarket headers for 400bhp,you will be OK with standard headers.
Your standard headers will cope with 400bhp,if you will fit aftermarket headers you will lose spool,if you want go aftermarket route,contact here Harvey for ported headers.
I will recommend have look for better up pipe(Hayward&Scott are good or Harvey one are good also)

thanks for info. the up pipe wouldnt make me lose the rumble though would it? thats just if i wen tunequal headers correct? good to know i can keep standard ones. obviously the internals will also be fine at 400bhp on a blobeye at this level too?

 

No with new up pipe you will not lose rumble.With some unequal headers you will lose burble and spool,if you want go via aftermarket route,just go with equal GT Spec,Hayward and Scott headers,HKS(genuine not eBay copies) are also good.Unequal headers are recommend if you are go for more BHP than 500bhp.
STi are stronger engines like WRX and you will be fine with 400BHP on STi,some guys running 520bhp on standard STi..

I will keep standard headers if I will lose spool and rumble. I wont go higher than 400bhp anyways, I just want a quick road car. I will get the new up pipe too, thanks again for info jura.

 

Hi there if you want gain on spool,just ask here Harvey https://www.scoobynet.com/member.php?u=5340 about the ported headers which keep rumble and with these ported headers you gain on spool up,his headers are proven many people here and tuners,also i would recommend his up pipe.

I assume you have a package of supporting mods? Fitting an MD321H isn't an instant path to 400bhp

I'm curious how long will last
Some guys run just 2 months and has been cracked...
